Our Story

How we started

 

From childhood our Chief Creative Designer, Decorator & Baker learnt baking from her Nana, spending a lot of time in her kitchen being taught tried and tested methods and techniques that can only be handed down, also important lessons such as 'A good cook always cleans up after themselves as they go'. From there she started experimenting with recipes and techniques. With a love of colour, tradition, science, the unusual and creativity, an intuition for compatible flavour combinations and a natural flair for baking our CCD,D&B settled into an unusual signature style bringing traditional and alternative together.

Our Creative Decorating Technician & Baker found a passion for cooking as a child helping his Grandad make family meals. Branching out on his own in his teens his love of food stayed with him and so did all the lessons and techniques his Grandad had taught him, creating his own recipes and dabbling in some traditional baking. While at university studying chemistry he had to get creative with meals and baking, cooking for the whole student house on a budget. He then went onto be a Chef and was promoted up through the ranks to Kitchen Manager, then on meeting our CCD,D&B he took more of an interest in baking and enhanched his skills as a baker and found a natural talent as a cake decorator.

 

Together their unusual designs and traditional recipes with an alternative twist proved popular and so, Cherry Bomb Bakes was created.
